AI is a part of our lives, it is now here to stay. But be weary! it is not infallible.
AI does have its use, but there is still many flaws in its application in the Building Design world, as well as the Interior Design world. This many flaw is that is does not have the ability to define required details, and when it comes to Building Design does not fulfil any Building Codes, National Standards, must have requirements, or Council Compliances. It is incapable of applying practical components or whether the design is in-fact “doable”.
In saying that, you can use AI for inspiration and pooling your ideas into a single concept much like people use Pinterest for. how it is useful is that you can take elements and place into one single idea, you can play with colours. But that is where in reality it stops, and a designer steps in.
A Designer can and will take this concept and turn it into practical design including ensuring all functionality needs are met, compliances and standards are fulfilled, and all specifications and details are provided for you, contractors and suppliers. AI is not capable of this process, and if you follow AI recommendations it will end up being costly, timely and can be dangerous to you the user or other neighbouring users.
Keep watching I will add examples of AI fails!
